I’ve previously only been able to do Facebook Live using my cellphone, but have finally been given toys at work to take it to the next level.
For yesterday’s Academy Awards, we took over the Upfront w/ Mike Gousha studio and turned it into “Oscars Central.”
Of course viewers saw the space on TV, but we used it primarily for an MST3k-style watch party on Facebook Live.
It was pretty sweet being able to route the shots from the studio cameras into the feed. And this new software allowed me to add graphics, giving it a really professional look.

The engineers did incredible work, and producer Brian was invaluable in helping me pull this off.
