Anchor/reporter Mike Anderson signed off from WISN 12 NEWS on Friday after more than three decades of incredible storytelling.
Following his final 6 p.m. report, we “abducted” him from the studio and whisked him off to a surprise location, and we invited WISN 12’s Facebook audience to join in via Facebook Live.
It was thrilling to see the thousands of people watching and the hundreds of comments streaming into the conversation.
This had it all: suspense, positivity, love, a crossover audience, incredible talent helping to keep the pace, and a great production crew back at the station mixing the two broadcasts at the perfect points.

My biggest concern in pulling it off was about whether my cellular signal would hold up as we neared the venue due to the number of people who would be there, many likely using their phones. There was some pixelation and a couple of stalls of the video, but for the most part T-Mobile maintained it for me.
